Ghost in the Shell NFTs to Use ERC-721 Standard

The action is part of a new attempt by Japanese-affiliated companies to introduce anime content into the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.

Animoca’s “AnimeTraits” NFT collection will debut with the Ghost in the Shell NFTs.

Additionally, these will be the first products to be offered on the business’s SORAH by Animoca Brands Japan NFT trading platform.

Characters from the popular film will be included in the collection. The company plans to issue 500 NFTs in total, with each token being sold for ETH 0.018.

The well-liked ERC-721 NFT standard of the Ethereum protocol will be used to construct the tokens.

Along with CoolCats and San FranTokyo owners, the company will also provide customization options for owners of its Mocaverse offerings.

In November 2023, Animoca announced a “strategic” partnership between San FranTokyo and the CoolCats.

Web3 Move for Anime Titles

SORAH launched in June this year. Its first listings included the San FranTokyo profile picture collection. It also sold a series of NFT tie-ins featuring The Sandbox and the manga series Captain Tsubasa.

The media outlet wrote:

“The Ghost in the Shell NFT collection is likely to attract attention as a new attempt to spread the popularity of popular Japan anime titles in the web3 world.”

Through the cryptocurrency wallets Metamask and WalletConnect, the company further stated that it will “support” transactions on the Ethereum and Polygon blockchain networks.

Based on a well-liked manga series that debuted in 1989, Ghost in the Shell was a successful science fiction film.

Since then, it has been turned into a number of video games, live-action films, and anime series.

Scarlett Johansson played the lead role of Major Mira Killian (Motoko Kusanagi) in the 2017 Hollywood adaptation.
