Hackers Scoop Up on Trump Family to Promote Questionable Crypto Scam

Lara Trump, the co-chair of the Republican National Committee, had her X account compromised by cybercriminals.

On Tuesday, hackers gained access to the X accounts of Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law and daughter in order to advertise a token purportedly associated with World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency venture that Trump’s relatives have lately supported.

Lara Trump, the co-chair of the Republican National Committee, had her X account compromised by cybercriminals. Additionally, they gained access to Tiffany Trump’s account, the younger daughter of the former president.

Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump, promptly labeled the posts a hoax.

“This is a scam!!!” he wrote on X. “@LaraLeaTrump and @TiffanyATrump‘s Twitter profiles have been compromised!!” Later, he commended Twitter for promptly securing their accounts, leading to the fraudulent posts’ removal.

Trump Crypto Project Acknowledges Hack

The security breech on X was also acknowledged by World Liberty Financial. Two of the fictitious posts mentioned World Liberty Financial. Despite generating a lot of excitement, the project is still in its pre-launch phase.

Donald Trump, along with his sons, has been hinting for weeks about the upcoming launch of their DeFi project.

Trump’s New Project Linked to Aave, Faces Questions on Security Risks

Details about the project recently began to emerge. It is expected to run on the Ethereum blockchain and draw inspiration from Aave, with a design similar to Dough Finance.

Flash loans caused ough Finance, which is well-known for its lending and borrowing capabilities, to lose $2.1 million as a result of a security breach that occurred in early July.

Whether World Liberty will have the same security flaws as Dough Finance is still up in the air. And it is not just code similarities that link Dough Finance to this platform.

Chase Herro, a crypto influencer, is the project’s lead for data and strategies, according to a whitepaper for World Liberty. Notably, Dough Finance was previously linked on Herro’s Instagram.
