A new smartphone called the “Definitive Web3 Mobile Device” has been unveiled by Solana

Trump reportedly purchased hamburgers using Bitcoin at Pubkey.

With the release of its “Seeker” smartphone, Solana has formally unveiled its newest offering, which it claims represents a major advancement in Web3 mobile technology.

Seeker, which is about half as expensive as its predecessor, intends to draw in customers with improved features and a wider audience than just memecoin aficionados.

In a recent post on X, Solana stated, “It is the definitive web3 mobile device, designed to harmonize hardware & software.”

Saga Gained Traction After Surge in BONK

When it was first released in May of last year, the previous model, Saga, had trouble taking off.

Both cryptocurrency users and tech critics gave it mixed reviews.

Nevertheless, the gadget unexpectedly became well-known in December after a 1,000% increase in the price of the memecoin Bonk (BONK), which caused the gadget to sell out completely by the middle of December.

Solana is aiming to duplicate a portion of that achievement with Seeker, focusing on roughly 140,000 customers who have paid between $450 and $500 for the device in advance.

Though it maintains that Seeker will provide much more than just the opportunity to profit from memecoin trends, the company does guarantee them access to a variety of rewards.

“We founded Solana Mobile with the mission of taking crypto mobile,” said Solana Co-Founder and Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko.

“To achieve that, we needed to make Seeker more accessible, more affordable, and for its hardware and software to be even more deeply integrated for web3.”

Seeker’s redesigned decentralized app (DApp) store, which attempts to provide developers with a platform to swiftly release new applications, is one of its primary features.

But the hardware improvements on the new model are also meant to draw customers.

Because of its technological shortcomings in comparison to popular devices like the iPhone and Google Pixel, the original Saga was criticized.

Seeker would now be “lighter, brighter, and better” than its predecessor thanks to its upgraded screen, better cameras, and better battery.

Seeker Users Might Get Around $265 Worth of Airdrops

Those expecting large rewards may need to lower their expectations as the Seeker strives to go beyond the moniker “memecoin phone.”

The current value of tokens airdropped to Seeker users is approximately $265, which is substantially less than the $1,350 in rewards given to Saga users, according to Solana’s mobile airdrop tracker, TwoLoot.

Nevertheless, Solana contends that Seeker’s primary selling point is its ability to offer consumers a variety of experiences that are integrated with cryptocurrencies.

As an example, the device’s zero-fee App Store is a special feature that might encourage innovation that is friendly to cryptocurrencies in a way that traditional app stores, which are limited by Google and Apple regulations, cannot.

Token launchpads such as the memecoin deployer pump are currently in use. Under the current App Store policies, which demand that developers forfeit a 30% share of all token sales and go through a convoluted review process, fun would find it difficult to operate.

Rather, Seeker would develop into a central location for Web3 apps and token launchpads.

The gadget will support Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) apps like Infield and Helium through integrations, solidifying its standing as a trailblazing instrument in the Web3 domain.
