If re-elected, Trump reiterates his pledge to establish the US as the world’s “Crypto Capital”

Trump wants to embrace industries instead of attacking them, including cryptos.

In his widely disseminated speech on the nation’s economic agenda, Donald Trump, the 2024 US presidential candidate, mentioned cryptocurrency.

Speaking at the Economic Club of New York on Thursday, the former President made a brief mention on cryptos. He once again stressed his intentions to make the US the “world capital for crypto and Bitcoin,” if re-elected.

He also promised that for every new regulation, his administration would repeal at least ten outdated ones. He said, “We would be able to do that quite easily.” This would free the US economy from crippling regulation, Trump continued.

“Instead of attacking industries of the future, we will embrace them, including making America the world capital for crypto and Bitcoin.”

His crypto mention at the Economic Club comes days after Trump’s family teased a DeFi project – World Liberty Financial. The project will be built atop Aave, the popular Ethereum-based lending platform.

During his hour-long speech, Trump announced plans to reduce current regulations, lower inflation, and encourage more domestic energy production.

Furthermore, he aimed to make America the world’s “manufacturing superpower.” The goal is to implement a pro-American trade policy that encourages local production and brings trillions of dollars home through tariffs.

Trump also came up with a slew of promises such as low taxes, low energy costs, low interest rates, secure borders, low crime, and surging income for every citizen.

Additionally, Trump mentioned implementing Elon Musk’s proposal to establish a government efficiency commission tasked with auditing federal spending.

Additionally, he mentioned in passing that although AI is “controversial,” “we have to be on top of it.”

“I took care of our economy like I would take care of my own company. I always put America first, every single time.”
