Billionaire Mark Cuban Says That Kamala Harris Is “Far More Open” To Crypto: Politico

During the U.S. presidential election, Democratic front-runner and incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris might be “far more open” to cutting-edge technologies like cryptocurrency, according to billionaire Mark Cuban, who spoke with political media outlet Politico via email this week.

Kamala Harris May Be More ‘Open’ To Crypto, Mark Cuban

“The feedback I’m getting, but certainly not confirmed by the VP, is that she will be far more open to business, (artificial intelligence), crypto, and government as a service,” Cuban said. “Changing the policies changes the message and lets everyone know she is in charge and open, literally, for business.”

The current president of the United States, Joe Biden, is generally in favor of a long-standing regulatory strategy for the blockchain industry as a whole. Nonetheless, fresh information might suggest that Harris is more open to technological advancement than her predecessor was.

In another interview this week, Cuban told Decrypt that Harris’ team had reached out with “multiple questions” about cryptocurrency in general. “So I take that as a good sign,” Cuban said.

The 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Heats Up

After Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race after just one term, the Democratic Party was rocked by Cuban’s remarks this past week.

In a statement released on July 21, Biden stated, “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year.” “Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump.”

Trump, the Republican nominee, has, however, made a point of promoting digital assets during his campaign trail, even though he had previously declared that he was “not a fan” of cryptocurrencies.

Apart from accepting cryptocurrency contributions for his campaign, Trump and his spouse, Melania, have also launched their own NFT collections.

Trump’s selection of “Hillbilly Elegy” author J.D. Vance as his running mate further emphasizes this pro-crypto stance. Senator Vance, representing Ohio, previously disclosed Bitcoin holdings exceeding $100,000 in 2021.

The former reality TV star, who escaped an attempted murder on July 13 during a campaign stop in Butler, Pennsylvania, is scheduled to speak at the Bitcoin Conference 2024 in Nashville later this week.

One day after Trump’s attempted assassination, The Bitcoin Conference posted to X, saying, “We are happy to report that Donald Trump is committed to delivering his speech in-person at Bitcoin 2024.” “We are proud to host him and to share the solidarity of the global Bitcoin community and our universal commitment to free speech and peaceful democracy.”

It is unknown at this time whether Harris will also speak at the Bitcoin Conference in an attempt to interact with voters who are interested in cryptocurrencies.
